Easy Low Carb Snacks
Should you feel the need to snack I have listed a few easy low carb ideas for you. Just don’t snack because you are bored!
Do you know the difference between being hungry and bored? You will eventually learn the difference but in the mean while have a healthy snack ready, this will prevent you from eating something else you should not be eating.
Try and get into the habit of eating something that takes a little preparation. Planning ahead is key!
Boiled eggs are a great snack and they can keep for a rather lengthy period. Keep a stash in the fridge at home or work.
Make a small platter for one with some hard cheeses (gouda, cheddar), liver pate, cucumber slices, ham, salami, peppers, olives. You don’t need large amounts, just a few of each.
Eat it straight from the skin with a bit of salt and pepper. Just don’t eat the whole one at once as it’s a snack, not a meal. Sprinkle with some sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds to give it extra goodness.
Cold meats (not processed if possible), last nights left over meat and bacon are all quick and easy low carb snacks.
Crack open a tin of tuna at work and eat it as it is, or mix with mayonnaise and avocado.
Nuts and seeds
Nuts are an excellent source of protein and fibre but not all are low carb. Almonds and walnuts are low and also high in calcium and iron. But don’t over indulge, stick to not more than a handful at a time.
Strawberries and blueberries are an excellent choice and have antioxidants which fight free radicals that cause ageing, disease and low immunity. Same as the nuts, stick to a handful only.
I hope you have found this post helpful and feel free to tell me what your go to snack is.
